About Us

An independent automotive desk for people who want to understand the car in front of them, not the brochure version of it.

Who we are

Ernesto Zaleski is a small editorial team of drivers, mechanics and engineers who got tired of press releases dressed as reviews. The site began in 2018 as a weekend notebook about the cars we actually owned.

Today it reaches readers who are choosing a truck, fixing a brake job or trying to work out what a software update did to their car. We write for them, not for the marketing department.

Our mission

Our mission is to make car decisions less expensive and less confusing. Every week we publish free guides across five sections: Car Technology, Truck Reviews, Auto Parts, Driving Tips and Motorsport News.

Each guide carries 2026 prices where they exist, worked examples, and the trade-offs nobody puts on the window sticker. If a feature is not worth the money, we say so.

Editorial standards

No sponsored picks and no pay-to-rank lists. We disclose any loan vehicle, and we return it with a full tank and an honest verdict. Corrections are published within 48 hours and noted on the page.

Numbers come from manufacturer documentation, regulator filings, our own measurements and owner reports from forums and fleet operators. We never quote a press release figure without labelling it as one.

The team

Ernesto Zaleski (editor, former service advisor), Maya Ortega (drivetrain and EV batteries) and Tomas Reiner (commercial vehicles and towing).

Contributing reviewers include a master technician and a club-level rally driver who check every technical claim before it ships.

We started by writing about our own cars. The standard has not changed since: write it like a friend with a torque wrench would.
